QUESTION: I installed the software included and tried out the product. Everytime I use it the software locks up and has to be ended. It appears the actual scanning works, but it doesn’t make any difference if pictures can’t be saved to my computer from the device. Is there some sort of software upgrade or something that should have been included to make this work or is it necessary for me to return the product to the store?
ANSWER: Does this issue happen ONLY when you press the SAVE button?
… meaning do you see the image preview OK?
Can you capture an image and save it to the small film strip area?
Do all of the brightness controls work?
Does the same thing happen when capturing slides, negatives and prints?
IF you can do all of these things but your computer crashes only when you press the SAVE button then it is possible that you are trying to save the file to a bad location.
Please check the pathname where your files are saved to:
After you select GET PHOTO>> ACQUIRE FROM SCANNER from Blaze Photo you will see a window called “Select Scanner & video Device”
In the field that says “Save Files In” click on the “…” button and choose a DIFFERENT folder or directory to save the files.
This may solve your problem.
ALSO: Make sure that you are using the current version of our software. If you purchased this from JC Penney then we have a more recent version of the software that is available online:

Make sure that you uninstall the old version of the driver and BlazePhoto before installing the new version.
IF not then there may be something wrong either with your computer configuration or the unit itself. Let us know and if this is still giving you trouble we can check this further.
