Hello, (1)What is the country of manufacture? (2)Is the ENTIRE original photo displayed in the digital image; i.e., does the frame cover up/ cut off parts? (3)Where can I find reviews of this product?..In your Feedback list there is only one saying he had satisfactorily scanned 400 pictures, the rest hadn’t tried the unit. Thanks for your time. |

Hello and Thanks for your questions on our product. This product is manufactured in China. YES the entire image is displayed- for a 35mm slide or negative you will see the entire frame, we do not crop anything off the sides except for a very small portion (perhaps around 1mm around the border). We have been selling Digital Converter products that are based on the same technology for more than one year. As far as reviews, in addition to those you see on eBay we have a few customers that have given some reviews on our Blog: http://spectareproducts.com/blog/site/?p=1#comments We are currently working on getting more reviews for our products. I will say that over the past year and a half we have sold many thousands of these products and we have many customers that have scanned hundreds upon hundreds of images- from our experience I believe that most people are quite pleased with the results. I think the best advice for you is to give our product a try. We do offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. Thanks again for your interest and I hope you will will try it out and see for yourself. |

DOES THIS SCANNER TRANSFER IMAGES TO A SCANDISK THANKS EDNA |
Dec-29-09 |
| A: |
Our product does not use a memory card to save the images. Instead our product connects directly to the computer– after you capture your images and press the save button it will transfer the images automatically to any spot you select on your computer hard drive, local network or any connected device to your computer. In our experience this is the fastest way to get captured images onto your computer and into a photo Library. Thanks for your interest and hope you will give the product a try. |
| Q: |
Can you transfer the pictures directly to a website instead of putting them on the computer hard drive? |
Dec-17-09 |
| A: |
Well what you really need to do is to FIRST download them to your computer hard drive first. Then through BlazePhoto you can create a web page that can be posted to a server. IF the customer is very savvy and they have the correct network connections they “could” specify a network location as the destination path for where the photos are saved to. HOWEVER, I would not recommend this because it will take much longer for the images to be saved because they will go from the PhotoSaver through the internet to the Web- so this step could take a long time. ALSO, The Raw Captured images that come from the PhotoSaver are very large full resolution images and these are too big for people to view quickly from the internet. THEREFORE, the best way is to save the images to the hard drive first – then use BlazePhoto to create a webpage and save to the website. Hope this makes sense. |
| Q: |
How many photos will this scan at one time or do you have to feed each one individually? |
Dec-10-09 |
| A: |
Hello and thanks very much for this question. The answer is that currently you need to load each photo or print at a time- however the slide holders will take 3 slides and the negative holders will take a strip of up to 6 negatives. The holders are easy to load and you should find the process to be very quick. We do have a full response to this question posted on our blog: http://spectareproducts.com/blog/site/?p=158 Thanks again and hope you will give our product a try for yourself. |
| Q: |
Hi what about the focus, is it fixed or can you adjust to make sure your in focus before saving it ? Please explan the focus on it and can you tell me the difference between the unit for $119 and the one for $129 ? Thanks |
Dec-10-09 |
| A: |
There are 2 focus distances that are set. One setting is for Prints and the other focus setting is for slides and negatives. When you move the switch on the front of the device the focus will change to match whether you capturing Prints or Slides/negatives. This focus does not need to change because the holders keep the media in place and this distance is exact. For your question on the PhotoSaver vs Photo2File– the short answer is that the name is different but the product is the same. The main difference is where each of these products will be sold– currently we have both products in stock but eventually we will only sell the Photo2File. Our official answer is posted on our Blog: http://spectareproducts.com/blog/site/?p=187 Thanks very much for you interest in our products and hope you we can send one to you soon to try for yourself. |
| Q: |
Does this require you to have a PC or is it used by itself? |
Dec-09-09 |
| A: |
This unit DOES require the use of a PC. When you connect the Photo2File to the computer you can preview the image on your computer monitor and make adjustments in real time from the computer software. After the images are captured they are automatically transferred directly to a specified place on your hard drive. I do know that there are some other competitor units that are “stand alone” and do not require a computer, However these units will have a smaller LCD preview screen, the exposure controls are generally not as advanced and to transfer the images to the computer takes another step since you need to transfer the images from a memory card onto your computer. We have tested and tried both types and we feel ours is the better system- but of course the decision is yours which one to get. Hope you will give our product a try. Thanks for your consideration. |

Would it be possible for me to pay with a credit card? I don’t have a paypal account, but I really want this item. |
Dec-08-09 |
| A: |
Yes, it is no problem to pay with a credit card. We do not require a PayPal account in order to make the payment. When you go through the Check out process on the payment screen there is a link to click IF you have a Paypal account– however there is another link you can click if you DO NOT have a Paypal account. If you click this link then you can enter your credit card information and you are not required to set up a Paypal account. The credit card is still processed through PayPal but there is no account that is required. If you have questions on how to do this let me know. Thanks very much for your interest in our products. |

Hello, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The initial sales on this product have been very good. I just added more quantity to our eBay listing. We received a new shipment last week so we do have plenty of inventory to sell through Christmas. Thanks very much for your interest in our product and hope you will give this a try. |
| Q: |
how many photos can I load into the unit at 1 time for converting |
Dec-06-09 |
| A: |
Currently we only have holders to load prints one at a time. However, I think you will find the process for loading and capturing to be quite fast. If you have a large amount of prints to capture I would suggest ordering more print holders. We do have these available to order through our store at http://spectarestore.com Thanks for your interest in our product and hope you will give it a try. |
| Q: |
You have two products listed. What is the difference between the two models: Photo2file (SC88934BK) and the Photosaver (SP02934BK) Both of the product descriptions look the same. Thanks |
Dec-06-09 |
| A: |
Hello and thanks for your question. The products are identical in every way. Currently we have inventory on both products but in the future we will only sell the Photo2File product through our direct channels. You can read our “official answer” to this question on our Blog: http://spectareproducts.com/blog/site/?p=187 We would recommend with our sale pricing the Photo2File product is a better choice currently. Thanks for your interest and hope you will give our product a try. |
| Q: |
can I take my actual 3×5 5×7 photos and transfer them to digital also? |
Dec-05-09 |
| A: |
Sure, you can do this. The unit come with 3 print holders- one for 5×7 prints, one for 3 1/2×5 and one for 4×6. You can put your photo in the holder and place it into the converter and capture the image- it is quite easy and fast to do this. We also sell more holders through the spectarestore.com Thanks very much for your interest in our products. |
| Q: |
Hi, will this unit scan and transfer other negitive sizes other than 35mm? Will it do 110 etc… Thanks |
Dec-04-09 |
| A: |
You can capture 110 and 126 negatives and slides. However, we do not make holders for these sizes so you need to adapt a 35mm holder in order to do this. We do have a page on our blog that talks about this question: http://spectareproducts.com/blog/site/?p=30 If we get more interest in 110 or 126 slides and negatives it is possible that we may come out with holders for these sizes in the future. But for now you need to adapt the 35mm holder. Hope that answers your question and hope you will give our product a try. Thanks very much. |
| Q: |
In one place it says it works with windows 7, and in another it says xp, and vista 16 bit & 32 bit. I have never heard of 16 bit vista, 64 bit but not 16. Does it work with win 7 64 bit or vista 64 bit? |
Nov-30-09 |
| A: |
Hello and thanks very much for pointing out this error. This was a typo on the website. Our Products are compatible with Windows 7, XP, Vista (32 or 64 bit). We have fixed the listing on ebay and our site. Sorry about the mistake. If you have any of those operating systems then our product will work fine. Hope you will give our product a try. |
| Q: |
After scanning a 35mm negative, does the software convert to neg to a positive? Thanks. |
Nov-29-09 |
| A: |
Yes, it does convert the negative image to a positive image automatically. Also when you preview the negative you will see the image as a positive image. |
| Q: |
Does this unit have a slot for a SD card so you can load pics directly to the card? |
Nov-28-09 |
| A: |
No it does not have an SD card reader. Actually it does not need one since you connect this directly to your computer. In the software preferences you can choose any location on your harddrive, network or connected device to transfer your images onto. After you capture the images you press SAVE and everything will be automatically copied to the selected location. This is actually much faster than having the unit copy the images to a memory card – then putting the memory card into your computer and transferring them to your computer. Thanks for your question and hope you consider giving our product a try. |
| Q: |
what is the difference in the 2 items you have listed other then the price? |
Nov-26-09 |
| A: |
The difference is only the name that appears on the front of the box. We are the direct importer for both the PhotoSaver and Photo2File products. We are selling the PhotoSaver product to JC Penney who will continue to sell this under this name. We have just received our inventory of the Photo2File product that we will sell through our direct sales. In the future we will only sell the Photo2File ourselves, however, currently we have products with both names. We did just reduced the price on the Photo2File product. If you have any other questions let me know. Hope you will give the product a try. |
